Award-winning BBC journalist Myrie to host DLT2014 launch event

Award-winning international journalist and BBC News Channel presenter Clive Myrie is to host the 2014 Diversity League Table launch event this year. The event will take place on the 29th October, at the London office of Norton Rose Fulbright, this year’s host sponsor. Myrie will also chair the Diversity Panel Discussion and audience Q&A which is an important part of the event.

Stephen Parish, Chairman and Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Norton Rose Fulbright said, “Creating a more diverse profession remains one of the biggest challenges facing law firms today. We take these issues very seriously and The Black Solicitor’s Network and its annual Diversity League Table are key to ensuring that we generate debate and track progress in this very important area”.

The Diversity League Table (DLT) initiative is sponsored by the Law Society of England and Wales, and supported by the Bar Council and the Legal Services Board.

The launch event is free to attend and priority will be given to representatives from those firms and chambers who have participated in this year’s Diversity League Table.

  • About Clive Myrie: A career spanning more than two decades, Clive Myrie was born in Bolton, studying law at Sussex University before switching to journalism. He has reported from some of the world’s hottest hotspots, including Kosovo, Palestine and Afghanistan. During his time as a US correspondent he has covered events which, in the context equality and diversity, could be considered very high and also depressingly low. He covered the inauguration of President Obama in 2009, but there was also the time, as he is quoted as saying, “went down to Mississippi and interviewed a man who had survived a lynching.” A truly diverse career, he brings a richness of experiences and, perhaps too, a broader context to the event discussions.
