Satsuma director, Godwin Ohajah, is to take part in what’s been described as “Europe’s biggest 10k”, the Great Manchester Run, this year sponsored by Morrisons.

The event will take place on Sunday 10th May 2015 and an estimated 40,000 people will be running to support a range of worthy causes and charities.

The Great Manchester Run is considered the nation’s favourite 10K running event, popular among world class athletes and beginners alike. The course passes the iconic Old Trafford football stadium, and finishes right in the heart of the city.

Godwin, who will be raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society, said, “They are doing some amazing work to support people with Alzheimer’s and dementia  which we need to support in any way we can.”

This is the second year he has run this race, finishing last year in a respectable time of 49 minutes and 24 seconds; placing him in the top 10% from an eventual field of more than 33,000 runners.

He added, “I’ve set the same three challenges as last year; 1) Raise £1000, 2) actually finish the race! and 3) do it in less than 50 minutes. Hopefully I’ll achieve all three, but if it’s just the first one I’ll be happy. “

He concluded by saying: “And yes, there’s a fourth, beat Phil Neville if he’s running this year!”

The event is due to be shown live on the BBC.
