The release of the findings of the 2014 BSN Diversity League Table report, featuring the Diversity Panel Discussion and audience Q&A. chaired by BBC News presenter, Clive Myrie.

Time:   6pm – 9pm

Date:    Wednesday 29th October 2014

Venue: Norton Rose Fulbright, 3 More London Place, London SE1 2RE

SUBJECT: Retaining and progressing diverse talent

The panel will consider some of the more challenging aspects of diversity and inclusion. In many firms there are more applications from women than men. At a slower rate, BME applications are also increasing, as too is recruitment for both groups. However the retention, or attrition, rates of mid-level women and BME lawyers is still an issue. But it’s not an issue faced solely by the legal profession.

This year we invite two of the diversity experts featured in this year’s DLT publication to join the panel, take questions and share their experiences in trying to tackle this most challenging of issues…retention and progression of diverse talent.

On the panel:

  • Annabel Smith, HR Executive Director and Head of Diversity (EMEA), Morgan Stanley
  • Derek Tuitt, Due diligence leader for Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise Services business and EMEA Regional Leader for HP’s global Black Employee Leadership Council (BELC)
  • Professor Peter Urwin, Director, Centre of Employment, University of Westminster and Head Researcher, the Diversity League Table
  • Cordella Bart-Stewart, Executive Director, Black Solicitors Network
